Default Motor swap!!!

I am wondering if it is even close to possible to mount a 2.7Bi-turbo A6/S4 motor in a '93 audi 90?

This would kick *** to do and i may be able to find myself a whole car for the swap....

Well the 2.7 bi turbo is a evolution of the 2.8 30v, which is a evolution of the 12v. All three engines have been used on the A4, and the 12v in the 90. I'd think that there are enough common parts to bolt the engine in aside from turbo plumbing which is no real problem. I am even more confident that it wil lbolt in by the fact I hear that the V8 bolts into our cars.

The hardest and most costly part of the swap may infact be finding a donnor.

As far as fitting the motor and plumbing, it shouldn't be a problem. Where you are going to run into issues is the wiring, ECU, and the fact that the Guage cluster off the S4 or A6 2.7 are required!!!

I know the 1.8T's been done. I haven't read of a workaround on the guage cluster requirement of the 2.7's.

Default The gauge cluster will fit in with only a small gap at the bottom.

My friend put a 1.8t into his 80 and the guages also. He said it went in real easy. The only thing is that it has about a 3/8" gap at the bottom. This is because it sits all the way out to the edge of the area. right out almost to the steering column.

BTW this is one of the swaps I have been wondering about.

Good luck

how about if i get the dash too.......then i can fit the dash in as well with a little trimming....i was also thinking of the V8 swap but they are more rare.....

I may get the books on both and see how different the wiring really is...shouldn't be too bad as my 93 has a lot of the same options...
