My engine just died - please help to troubleshoot!
Dear All!
My 90CS quattro V6 engine just decided to quit.
I came home from work one hour ago, everything was OK. Now my wife wanted to go to pick up our kid, started the engine, started moving and engine died.
Tried to start it again - it starts but dies almost instantly. Like there is not enough fuel or something.
Please help me to troubleshoot this problem. What should I check first?
Thanks a lot.

ive never worked on the v6 but if it was an NG ide ask u to check the following
vacuum lines.. could be a nice leak that jus got worse. another thing is like ricardo said, turn the key, jus put it into contact, dont try and crank it, turn it, and listen for the *buzzzz* from the fuel pump, if u dont hear it, it could be electric, or the pump was just never changed..
it could also be ur fuel filter, if its never been changed, its got alot of nasty stuff stuck in it, and eventually get into the lines, try putting sum fuel line cleaner if u get it started.
another thing u could check , not sure how it is on the v6 but on the ng , u can loosen a hose from the fuel distrib, and check if its shooting enuff fuel, u could also take off the injectors, and check if they r shootin equal fuel..
if ur a do it urselfer, u could try all of these things, first thing ide do is buy a filter * if u know it hasnt been changed* and change it, filters r way cheaper than pumps
another thing that might help is the search section of the forum

Don't think that's the problem.
It starts up, it does right away, doesn't sound like the batt. or the alt.
If the alternator was bad, the car would drive until the battery was run down.
If the battery was bad, it wouldn't start.
