Default Nasty belt squel when driving and then switch on the AC/Heater.... Sounds like I killed a pig...

Driving around. Finally start to use my HVAC system. At a stop light, switch it on, put it into first gear. HORRIBLE loud squeal, sounds like I killed a pig...

Also happens if the HVAC system is on when I turn the car on...

Any ideas?

Bad belt? Bad A/C?

TIA!

Default Sounds like the belt to me... quick and easy fix to test

Spray the belt down with some hair spray (as the squeeling is it slipping on the pully). Let it dry and take it for a spin. if it cures your problem then you know its the belt. if it still manages to slip and squeel your a/c compressor could have some issues (not wanting to spin freely enough would cause the belt to want to slip) that or a tension issue on the belt.

Default Just heat or just AC?

Just heat head for the alternator belt. Just AC it could be both/either.

Unplug the connector to the AC comp and try again. If no squeal then it's the comp/clutch or belt on the AC.

Default All the info is on there site... but as for my opinion

it was a very nice gain. Full dyno tune and re-map of the fuel system for my install, more to come once the large MAF goes in. My car was the beta tester so I am unsure how many others are running there chip tuning..
