mine got heavy use, ...
granted, my R was not low for an R, but a lot lower than my coupé is.
i do a huge proportion of off pavement driving.
the hits my skid plate took were more from unforeseen smacks, and from big rocks and ice chunks, than most normal people's driving.
the oilpan on my coupé seems a lot less vulnerable, but all it takes is one hit.
