and what a garage!
He had more Audi's than you could shake a stick at, a peugeot 206 rally car, plus boxes and crates labeled RS2, Cosworth etc.
Plus he had some Mid engine "R" something or other, I wasn't sure what he was talking about but I thought maaaybe it was the VW R-concept?? (there were covers on most of the cars)
someone get me a bib...
Very nice guy indeed!
gettin close to time to catch up w/ Javad...

hehe I guess I should have followed up sorry folks!
Well it 'appears' that it was an ac compressor line that blew although I'm not 100% certain. If not then it was a combination of my 6000rpm freeway entrance tendency and a (occaisionally??) leaky valve cover gasket. Other than that the problem seems to have disappeared... I know, I'm skeptical too! Now I drive like a grandma for the time being.
The new 7A is going into my basement for a rebuild, compression drop, cleanup, and turbo charge.
It's really in excellent shape so it'll make a good foundation. I'm reading "Engine Blueprinting" and Corky Bell's turbo charger book until I get the parts I need. Then the fun will begin!!!!
I got a few 'needed' replacement parts with the engine too so that'll extend the running life of the one currently in the car.

Depends what you want out of it...
If all you wanted is stockish power you'd be better off finding a 3B motor, or for that matter, whole car. If you want more power 7A would be the way to go.
