Hey, ive had a terrible radio reception, and was told it was because the adapter i got when i put in my aftermarket sterio was not a powered one. So i went to the store and shelled out a ridiculour 25 bucks for one thats powered, basiclly looked the same as the old on except with a blue wire running off it. so i wired in the blue wire to my remote turn on lead, and connected the radio. now on the audi there is a black plug and a white one (one the powered roof antenna, and one the am antenna i was told) however with the power hooked up, i tried both the white and black and got the same results with almost no change in fm reception and absolutly no am reception. im not saying i listen to am all the time, but its useful for traffic and what not, and for the love of me, i cant get it working. am i doing something wrong? currently the antenna is hooked into the white jack, whats going on here?

Funny...I dont have an antenna on mine, its in the rear windshield

thats what i mean, there is no physical antenna, the fm is in the roof and am in the windshield....

Audi radio reception via glass antennas just sucks. I'm drilling a hole in my A6 for a coat hanger.
