Default question on spring rates, im running 350f/250r, not stiff enough....

ive got a set of coilovers and im usin bilstien sports with them, there not nearly stiff enough, i wuz getting some 500f/400r springs from fk, but its not workin out, they dont have the correct dimensions for me and im switching to konis cuz they have more adjustment anyways, i do very spirited driving and the sports and my current springs are way 2 mushy, im also using a 29mm swaybar up front (stock) and a 22mm swaybar in the rear, i like the handling and the balance, it drifts beautifully when i really push it but i want it stiffer, any expertise is appriciated

Default You need Eibach ERS springs! ;O)

Had'm on my 1986 Coupe GT, with its GC coil-overs.

Had 375fronts, 400 rears. The ERS come in many rates and lengths.

http://eibach.com/cgi-bin/htmlos.exe/0025.3.6129201940900028126</a

Default Stock front bar is only 26mm.

Also, swap the springs front to rear, you'll probably be happier. I know I sure wouldn't go higher than 400/500 even on my car, which gets autocrossed. Much more than that will be overkill, ask Rick Houck on the 20v list what he runs on his gutted, 10vt powered track only car (600lb/in at the most IIRC).

Default Mine are all sorts of rusty, no coating on large portions...

I think this was caused by a poorly designed upper perch/mount, which allowed the spring to bind a bit, which eventually caused the coating to chip off in places and introduce oxidation.

Default Correct!

I was thinking 28mm but he said 29 and I figured I was just wrong.

Default 300f/350r with Bilstiens and I think it's too stiff/bouncy - 1"-1.25" drop

I'm thinking progressives 175|500 front, 200|500 rear, or 200|500 all around with a 4000q rear bar...

It's fun on smooth roads, but gives me a headache the rest of the time, and the rear is tail-happy in the snow...

Quick Reply: question on spring rates, im running 350f/250r, not stiff enough....
