Default rotors and calipers......

Im in dire need to replacing both sets of each, yet, i dont really wanna fork up the cash to have it done by a mechanic, if its a do-able job for me. Assuming i get the right parts (which i will), are there any special tools/procedures that i need to know of before taking apart my brakes?

Anyone have any type of procedure for it? Is it as simple as taking the wheel off, and R&R-ing the rotor and caliper? Any advice would be great.....thx

Default just make sure you lubricate guide pins in rear carrier so that caliper moves in/out freely

front ones are pretty straightforward removing and reinstalling.Make sure you clean up the new rotors as they're usually oiled on surface to prevent corrosion while stored.

Default It's a very straight-forward job. Once you remove the wheels...

...you'll have to remove the two bolts on each wheel holding the calipers on. Once you've removed the caliper, remove the other two bolts holding the brake pad carriers in order to remove the rotor.
My brake job was delayed because my rear brake carrier pins were totally seized and I couldn't break them free. I had to order replacements and my car was on jackstands for the week it took to arrive from gprparts.com (I think?).

As long as you don't have to deal with seized pins, you'll be fine!

Default Good advice..

Its always a good idea to clean and lube the sliders while doing a brake job, it only takes a couple seconds and prevents sticking and premature wear on the pads..

You'll need tork drivers for the rear calipers

Default what's a tork driver?? when I did mine, I didn't need anything that wasn't in my ratchet set...

...aside from the Caliper Piston return tool I borrowed from Canadian Tire (free).

Default Torx? Not likely....Any caliper I've ever messed with have allen or hex head hardware

Only special tool you should need is a piston retract tool that goes on a 3/8" drive wrench.
