rs2 bumper on a B3

Re: rs2 bumper on a B3
Find a wrecked CQ or B4 90 and pull its fenders and where the bumpers attached. Should make things MUCH easier, as those are the areas I found different between a B3 90 and my "B3.5" Coupe.

Howdy! Slapping on B4 fenders to a B3 is not as easy as it would seem. They do just "bolt-on" but that is when things get to be a pain. The B4 has it's front wheels set further forwards than the B3, caster changes. This difference is enough that when the B4 fenders go onto the B3 the wheels sit too far back to be centered in the arch, looks terrible. The only option is then to fit B4 suspension, this can be easy for later model B3's, but not so for the early single piece strut/small ball joint models. Fitting the RS2 bumper is going to look fine, but the arch does not meet up and line up 100% perfectly.
None of the above applies to the CQ. The CQ was the B3.5 as stated in the post above this one. The CQ always had the flared B4 style arches that the B3 never received. It is very easy and stylishly pleasing to fit an RS2 or S2 bumper to a CQ. It is still good looking to fit an RS2 bumper to the B3, but the arch does not flow properly together as well as some would like.
Cheers!

Re: rs2 bumper on a B3
I was having problems fitting the CQ bumper to a B3 sedan. Couldn't get much of anything to line up...Looking at the fishy, the CQ and B4 cars have at least 1 additional part on the "frame rail" where the bumper attaches (called the "buffer mounting"). Looks like it bolts on. Yea/nay? Or am I nuts...
