slow battery drain...
I replaced the battery about 2 months ago, after the old one died, assuming the problem was the battery since it was pretty old. so now the new battery began getting drained overnight and is now getting drained pretty quickly when the car is off over the last day or so, the alternator looks pretty new and charges at a solid 13 volts when the car is running, I did a search and it seems to point to the voltage regulator, just wondering if there are any other suggestions, maybe a short somewhere? How would i go about checking for one, understanding the electrical system isn't my strong point. thanks!

I have an aftermarket radio, the car came with a different...
aftermarket radio, which i changed, but it also had an aftermarket wiring harness to connect to the radio, so i hooked my radio into that. i did hardwire the a radio in my old 90, but maybe the harness is hooked up incorrectly? hmmm...

get a test light....
undo the negative terminal.
Put the test light in series - does it glow with nothing on?
Then you have a steady drain (easier to debug then the intermittent variety!).
Pull fuses 1 at a time until the light goes out. Once the light goes out, you have the circuit you need to debug.
Normal suspects:
1. wiring harness in trunk at the flex point
2. cig lighter failure
Other thoughts?
