Default slush-box woes and solution ideas...

Ive been told by 2bennet and a couple others that my hard shift from 3rd to drive might be due to a gummed up valve body (not allowing the trans to shift smoothly into or out of lock out D & OD gears).

Ive been given two solutions:

1. 2bennet told me to floor it and see if that will clean it out. Ive changed the oil and have been putting my foot into it, but it hasn't worked yet (although it does shift smoother when hard on the gas).

2. Ive been told that I can remove the valve body and clean it. But how is this done? Is it difficult? I have the Bentley to guide me but any advise on how to actually clean the valve body or if it's a good idea to attempt this would be appreciated.

You mentioned 2Bennet - they're here (as am I) and I was wondering if you were nearby.
