Default So the 20v left me stranded for a few hours today :(

Was cruising down 101... enjoying the sun... snuck out of work early so i was feelin pretty good... 70mph 5th gear, huge power loss, tons of back firing and I swore I saw flames in my mirror from the tail pipe... get her pulled over and did a little poking around to find my distributor rotor had exploded in to 5 pieces and was helf melted sitting in my dizzy cap.

I had the new part sitting at home... but kragens was closer to my rescue team so they headed there and got the new rotor. No... no kragens doesnt actually carry the right rotor, they just tell you they do. I didnt want to run japanese parts on my car anyways. Waited for the team to swing by the home, got the new rotor in, fired her up and she purred home (driving a lot smoother then before I might add). I guess the next thing to go will be the plastic distributor gear... Happy friday.

Default Seems like a lot of 20v are experiencing driving issues.

That or I just notice it more now that mine has been down a while. I've replaced a really bad rotor and cap along with a bad FPR. Still nothing. I just tried it again, it ran for a very breif time and died. Tried it a few more times, same thing. It was only about 0 or less in the garage though. I could smell a strong scent of fuel. I gotta go see if it threw any codes this time. Stupid car.

Oh, I did replace the dizzy with a used one with metal gear. The rattle went away with this one too I think.

Default A man's version of a break-down situation is so much calmer than a women's.

I hate getting those calls when its not about the vehicle failure, but its about all the places she had to get to and now the whole week is shot because her schedule has been corrupted by a few hours. "You said you fixed it (changed the oil), so if you DID fix it why has it now stopped working?

"I need you to drop whatever you are doing and come here now and fix this problem for me so I can get back on my schedule.

"And if you need to ask: You just don't understand!!!"

Default if you are going to replace the gear, you might as well get a brass one...

034 Motorsports sells them<ul><li><a href="http://www.034motorsport.com/product_info.php?cPath=28_63&amp;products_id=746"> http://www.034motorsport.com/product_info.php?cPath=28_63&amp;products_id=746</a</li></ul>

Default pass, ebay.co.uk has them for well under half that price shipped to your door.

I just got a whole distributor with bronze gear for only $75 shipped.
