So, which carbon fiber part(s) should I make first?
So I've been thinking about using my experience with composites on my car. Anything I make will most likely require a mold to be made as well. I've been meaning to do this for a while now and began to try to make a timing belt over from the old cracked one I had, but the external stiffeners made it impractical to take a mold of. I've been thinking about making some parts that might be worth something to others on this forum as well. With all the recent discussion about the lack of available CQ body panels in good condition, I'm considering a few options.
Of the parts I have listed below, please let me know which one (and only one) you would prefer to see replicated in carbon fiber (or some other composite material) with the possibility that I may offer more for sale at a later date (and through some other venue) if they come out well.
B3 Hood
CQ Front Fenders
20v 5cyl Timing Belt Cover (this I would have to pretty much make from scratch as I have no smooth part to mold off of).
Radiator cover
Some other part
I was thinking about trying to make some molds from my interior wood trim for this purpose, but I don't want to accidently destroy anything delicate if there is a void in my release agent.
Thanks for your input.
