Strange noise in rear of '90 coupe when accelerating
I am looking to buy a good car to be a daily driver along with my new autocrossing toy.
I test drove a '90 Audi coupe quattro today and noticed a strange noise after shifting when I accelerated. Just as I would apply pressure to the gas, it would thump for a second. Everything seem to work fine. The car handled fine and accelerated very aggressively.
This '90 coupe also has 150k miles on it. Should I avoid such a high mileage car?

Re: Strange noise in rear of '90 coupe when accelerating
Most likely:
Engine mounts
Tranny mounts
Possibly:
Upper Strut Bushings
Control Arm Bushings
Tie Rod ends
Ball Joints
Before buying the car insist on having it inspected by a competent Audi Mechanic. Ask him to specificially check the above. Should solve the problem
