How long should strut mounts last? I had them replaced a little over a year ago, and am now told they need replacement AGAIN. Shop says they will pay for the parts, but want me to pay labor, which is a lot more: $266 for both sides.

Is it possible the strut mounts were incorrectly installed in the first place? Car does nothing but routine suburban driving, plus an occasional Boston pothole.

Get a new set of the greens, and see what happens. I've had mine in for just over two years now, and no problems.

What color are they? What shocks & springs? Wheels & tires?

The mounts were replaced when they installed new strut inserts. Unfortunately, I don't know the brand of either-- I wish I'd asked, but I do know they charged $50 for each mount. This shop won't let me supply my own parts.

Everything else is stock, except 15" audi rims instead of the stock 14".
