Default Such a fun job

Timing belt, roller, waterpump, thermostat, accessory belts (if needed), new coolant, front main seal (if needed), cam seal (if needed).

There are alot of little things you could say "Well, I might wanna do that since Im in there..."
Just depends on how crazy ya are

Default Where are you getting it done?

The TB/Waterpump is due on the 95q, and I'm thinking of tackling it myself. I'm just curious where you're taking it, and how much you've been quoted to have it done. You're in TO right?

Yep Mississauga. Getting it done at The Audi-VW shop in mississauga. Great guy. Quoted about $600 including parts and labour. 20V needs the front bumper taken off though to get to it. Dont know what entails your 95q. I do recommend this shop. Tony D took his coupe there aswell.

Default While the front bumper removal...

can make the job easier(to a certain extent) its not a requirement. Seems the A4 has made some shops think its required...

The job can be done with the front bumper left on.

If it were my car, I'd be concerned with the added labor charges to R&R the front bumper...

Ya, I wouldn't mind saving some $$ and besides that, learning how to do it myself.

Default If you know how to take the bumper off it only takes like 20 minutes, and might save 20 minutes...

by making the rest of the job easier.

cant see how anyone could get their hands and arms in there to get to it. I'll leave it for the proffesionals, maybe they have "girly" hands to get in there LOL

Default How much is the shop charging to R&R the bumper?

Its not needed to R&R the timing belt on the I5 motor.

Why pay extra money, for additional proceedures, thats not needed?

I've changed dozens of Audi timing belts on various I5's and never once removed the bumper!
