A tip: If any 20V owners want new wishbone bushes... get the right ones!!
I have recently (and eventually...!) upgraded my knackered old suspension. Brand new Bilsteins and Eibachs on there now - yummy! New bushes to finish the job then, what with the car booked in for new front tyres and tracking tomorrow...
Bought a set of 4 wishbone bushes for my 20V a few weeks back (not a Quattro so only have wishbones on the front) suitable for 80/90 type 89...
Anyway, woke up early this morning to remove my wishbones - job done. A wander down to a local garage then with my wishbones and new bushes...
Gentleman removes the bushes after much 'hammering'...
"Job done then?", I said.
"No mate, these are the wrong bushes."
ArrRRggGGGhhHHH!
I was assured many a time by the guy selling me the bushes, "Yeah, they're right - not my first day on the job, mate!"
Perhaps it was his second day!
Anyway, a warning to all 20V owners that have never and will eventually replace wishbone bushes - they're different, and the ones needed for a 20V are bigger (and therefore more expensive!!) ...
Now my car is off the road for a few days because the old bushes in one of my wishbones are now knackered (torched, dented, chipped etc.) ... oh well... (
Cheers
