Default tips to remove US-tail lamps?

removed all 6 nuts but the lamp will not budge. Is it the rubber glue strip that is holding it? Seems like I have to remove almost all of the paneling and trim in the hatch to get to the glue strip. Anyone done this properly have some tips?

Default I can't say for sure as I have no Bentley/Family where I am now, but I do know the strip is a PITA..

Slow and steady.... I know one of the guys up in Bellingham did his recently, and I would have if my new tails wouldn't have broken in shipping.... Still sore about that....

Slowly and use a heat gun carefully from the inside.

Default Wow, they are stuck on that well but still leak.

I THINK mine leaked through the lock. I also had a rust issue behind the licence plate holder. I think the chaulking there just held water...when I put it back on I made sure it was sealed all the way around to keep water out.

Default It dries up pretty good after 16 years, cracks and starts leaking...

it doesn't take a huge whole for a water to find its way through.
