Default Wanna do some prettying up of the engine bay...

I'm planning on replacing my camshaft soon so I was thinking while I have the stuff apart, I might clean it up a bit.

So I was wondering, if theres any way I can polish up the (exterior of the) intake manifold, valve cover, and timing belt cover. And if I wanted to paint them if anyone could recommend a paint that should stand up to the under-hood heat?

Default Chrome Everything!

It's good for at least 20 HP. Honestly, simple green what ever you can reach, clean anything corroded and use any good high temp paint.

Here in Quebec I buy it at Canadian Tire, it should be really easy to find at any major store that sells autoparts store, its often labeled as exhaust manifold, engine paint.

Yup. Just used it on some calipers. Resists 1200 deg. temperatures.

Lots of elbow grease and a good degreaser. The from Griots Garage, their Engine Kit. Comes with asstd. brushes, Engine Clean Spray and Engine Gloss. Great stuff. Makes your powerlant look new.
