Default Re: where are some

Sorry, all the good ones are either in Chicago or in the western burbs. I know of at least 3 in Chi-town and one in Naperville

Default Dubwerks in Libertyville.... young guy- knowledgeable, smart and lots of experience...

He does a lot of engine swaps and trans conversions.
He's got a supercharged Jetta.
Wife's got a sick Golf.. Or was it the other way around?

http://www.dubwerks.com</a

Default I had a good experience with Autobahn Motorworks in the Libertyville area

It's at the corner of US 45 and IL SR-83. It's where the two meet and turn in opposite directions (45 comes from the North and then turns East, 83 comes from the south and turns west).

I had a good experience there myself, but never had them do any major work. They had some old Benz's a couple Porsche's, and various VWs and Audis in their lot to be worked on. Hopefully nobody has any horror stories about them

Hope this helps!
