Default WOT Throttle position switch and idle switch

So I was getting an intermitant code for the WOT switch. I put a brand new one in and am still getting the code. It goes off and on, and if I blip the throttle to the floor, it goes off for a while.

How do I test the wires going from the switch to the ecu (?) for proper operation? The bottom one is for idle and should be clicked in when no throttle. I see this dampener where I'm not sure if its worn out and dampening too long to let the idle switch click on... or if I really need it.

With the top WOT switch I am confused as to when it should click on. Is it when the second butterfly is starting to open, or is it at fully open throttle?

Default The damper

is the dashpot. It keeps the idle from dropping too quickly. If it's binding it could keep the switch from operting. If on POST it doesn't see the switch in the closed state the mixture will be extremely rich as the ECU has gone into fault mode. Same as if the inlet air temp sensor is shot. It goes rich to prevent the engine from leaning out.

The WOT switch closes at full throttle. On CIS it causes the ECU to go into open loop mode. Sounds like the switch itself could be intermittent.

Its a brand new one and still I have the same codes as before, so maybe. I'm going to try the one off my other 90. That stupid switch wasn't cheap!

The dampener or dashpot seems to not be binding. I hear it click the idle switch 1-2 seconds after I let the throttle go back to idle. POST meaning post idle? Should I adjust the idle switch to stay "closed" a slight amount after throttle is applied? In other words, should the idle switch be turned off/on the EXACT moment the butterfly valves open/close?

I'm going to try to adjust the dashpot out so it doesn't dampen the return position so much, and see what happens.

Where is the inlet air temp sensor? Does the 10v have this?

Thanks for helping me find my way back to audi. I've been into making go power out of my 7.3l turbo diesel powerstroke aka International T444 for about a year now.
