The temperature control system in my 2002 A4 is FLAWED. When either the outside temp or the vehicle temperature is below 18 degrees ( the lower the temp the larger the temp variance) the car produces too much heat on the lowest auto setting 18. In fact, in desperation ,I had to purchase a dual probe digital thermometer to varify that I am not losing my mind that my car is indeed HOT at setting 18 in reality the air is between 22.6 & 23.5 degrees. This may be fine for some cold blooded types but but this a bit much for the Canadian winter where one usually wears winter clothing.
The car has been back to the dealer numerous times with no success. Audi claims the car is opperating to within specs .
I test drove a 2004 A4 with my digital thermometer .The interior air temp. was even warmer than my car at the 18 setting.
My previous 1998 A4 , which we still own, is 18 degrees when set at 18. Interesting that this car can accomplish this & does NOT have 6 temp sensors & a comfort control override.
I have tried all combinations of manual settings with no success. The lo setting is not a solution nor is turning the system off.
