A3 electric ant-pinch protection
Hi,
The other day I opened the n/s window on my 2003 A3 TDi, when I tried to close it the window wouldn't roll back up. Having searched through various posts on the Internet I thought it was the plastic clips that sit inside the runners as this seems to be a common problem. I took the interior door panel off and they seem fine, the motor and regulator also seem to be working. I can get the window up a small distance with the switch, the anti-pinch protection then kicks in and the window rolls down, this happens consistently.
I've tried a couple of suggested re-set fixes, but these have been to no avail.
Any suggestions on what could be causing this and any suggested solutions would be much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Chris

Try rolling the window all the way down, then pull and HOLD the switch up until the window is completely closed. If the first attempt doesn't work, try repeating for a few cycles. I recall reading somewhere that windows with pinch-protection sometimes need to "relearn" when the window is completely closed. Mine does this in hot weather occasionally. There is almost certainly nothing wrong with your window. Cheers, mate!

Hi - thanks for the tips, Ive tried both suggestions and no joy. Its been really cold so as its the o/s window I'm going to leave it up and sort it out when it gets a bit warmer. I'll post an uo-date when (hopefully) fixed !
