I'm comparing dimensions between my current S4 Avant and an A3. I'm primarily doing so based on my feeling of the A3 having more room in the rear seat than my S4. And of course, those are the specs that aren't listed! doh!

- Edge of rear seat when front seat is fully in the back?

can you measure from the glove box keyhole directly back (level) to the rear seat. That is, with the front seat laying down out of the way. This will show the amount of cabin space and take the seat position out of the equation. Assuming the seatbacks of the two cars in question are similar, that should help me compare legroom. Thanks!

As for the original spec, I'll just leave that to the automakers to however they measure it.

With front seat upright and fully forward:
- From rear seat edge to front backing = 16 inches
- From rear seat back to front backing = 38 inches

To glovebox keyhole with front seat down:
- From rear seat edge to keyhole = 42 inches
- From rear seat back to keyhole = 64 inches
