Clicking sound when car idles down
The car salesman said this sounded like something plastic was hitting. The noise got louder by the time we returned to dealership. If I excelerated and drove the noise went away. It only happend when I was comming to a stop.
Does anyone know what this could be?
Does this describe what you experience?
I have an '06 2.0t dsg. I asked the dealer about it. They just shrugged their shoulders - they have no idea.
If either of you get serviced, please let me know what the outcome is. Thanks kindly!
But I've never heard it get louder at all, so I cant help but wonder if you're experiencing something else.
Tore off the plastic panels and found that Audi must have addressed this; my underside didn't like OOOO-A3's underside.
If anyone gets resolution, post it here. Thanks.
I assumed it was something opening and closing as part of the HVAC.
Here is a TSB that seems relevant.

Notes from the work order:
"cust states there is a rattle noise from behind glove box. verified, checked for tsbs found tsb #2012395/6 for rattle noise. Followed tsb and installed insulators on black fuel line under body. removed underbody cover and foam, installed insulators and verified noise is no longer present. all operating as designed at this time"
The service rep said that it was clips that they installed and that this was the first of these done at the dealership. Had to order parts and wait a few days between initial checkout and getting the work done. I haven't driven the car enough yet to be SURE the noise is gone for good, but I haven't heard it come back yet. Very good experience at the dealership.
Bringing Audi to Life for Audi Fans
The resolution to the problem was to check the fuel lines as mentioned above and wrap the a/c evap pipes. Both are problems but my vehicles noise was due to rattling a/c evap pipes.
