Default Well, 5 days with my car now...

And I beg to differ...especially with the downshifts. On a manual, you can choose the exact point on the road you want to shift with good eye hand feet coordination. I don't get that feeling with my DSG. Now this is on the way to work and Home Depot driving, not 10-10th's stuff, but that may come this weekend as we had a nice significant snowfall that warrants some high speed touring. It is this type of motoring that the DSG needs to up and downshift with not only speed, but repeatable accuracy as to when you pull the lever and when it selects the gear and engages the clutch(es). I like this box because it allows me to ease on in to work with a cup of java, and ease on home in stop and go. Yet when I make my 9pm jaunts to the Home Despot, in the snow, I can turn off the abs and trac control crap and left foot it in confidence.

Don't get me wrong, for all intents and purposes the box is very fast. But when it doesn't know when you want to go up or down it may be iffy. As I said, I look forward to some weekend driving in the best conditions that a paved road can offer...fresh snowfall.

Default I find that it shifts fast, but doesnt respond to ME fast sometimes.

it also maybe because I like to force DSG to shift at low rpms in tip mode to save gas. So when I kind of pick the wrong rpm to shift at there's a delay. I havent driven the car aggresively yet, but with my economical driving in tip mode I find there are definately delays.

Default Shifting at low rpms proably puts the computer into super-smooth mode

so it slurs the shift more. Just a thought.

Default Can't find the other article just now - I should have included the link last night.

Here is the reference to the upshifts:

Default It really is amazing how fast it is, you can't even feel most up-shifts...

... it rev-matches SO perfectly. It really is some amazing engineering. Still makes me smile after the first 2 months of ownership :-)

Ryan - that F1 is sweet! Beautiful color.

That implies adaptive logic, which i thought the A3 DSG doesn't have?

Default the thing is....

what the shift time you define for the DSG is the clutch swap event. If you include synchronization the 'shift' can take up to .5seconds.
Again, shall I go into it?
Be careful what you quote.
