Hoppen is the main reason why it is poorly supported in the US market. But MTM products are the best
out there for real world performance...
The only shame is that Hoppen still has the exclusive rights to sell MTM in the US. MTM would be a lot more popular if they had a good dealer network in North America.
MTM products are the best developed on the market and their R&D facilites are one of the best, they also get a lot of inside information from Audi.

Often the best choice can be the one that has a local brick and mortar distributor
near to you. That way if you have an issue, it's easy to see the people who performed the upgrade for you.
On the other hand, it's pretty rare to hear of problems with MTM programs.

Re: GIAC or APR are well proven in the American market and very good...
i'm going in the shop next week to go with the APR upgrade. i've done some research, and talked to some shop owners. most say APR is the best, where GIAC is good, but a little bit too agressive. I had a neuspeed chip in my A4, it ran smooth, but power gains weren't as impressive as i'd like.

GIAC doesn't even have a chip out yet, so i don't see how you could say that.
Also . . . characteristics of programming in the past do not equal what the programs are like now in the A3.
I've heard nothing but good things about the Neuspeed chip, their numbers match APR's on 91 octane, not 93 like APR uses and I haven't heard a single complaint.
APR on the other hand, has had some funky issues.
Personally, I'd keep an open mind and wait for everyone else to release theirs before getting a chip . . . but that's just me. I also don't find much use of a chip in the winter (snow / rain) due to limited traction everywhere unless you're in so-cal.
