Has anyone come to an A3 from a modded B5 S4 or a B6 S4? Do you miss the power?

I'm specifically talking abou the 3.2 owners, because qiattro is a must.
I'm thinking about a fully loaded A3, however i don't know if i would miss the power.
What does the 3.2 do in the quarter? i've seen dome different figures, from 14.4 to 15.5.
Thanx

Re: Take a test drive
Taking a test drive is a good idea.
They are very different cars.
My 05 S4 is very nose heavy but the power is nice.
After testing a GTI and A3 I thought the power was very seamless and nice. Add a chip and the DSG I don't think you would lose a thing to the S4 and get better mileage.
I seriousily considered just getting an A3 and modding it but I succumbed to my life long lust and bought a 997-S.
But I remain very interested in acguiring an A3 as I am losing my company supplied Freestar.LOL

I came from an un-modded B5 S4...
I'd say my 3.2 definitely has a better suspension and better handling (assuming you get the 18" wheels and tires) than my old S4. The power feels a lot different - the 3.2 has none of the turbo boost feeling the S4 had. From what i can tell, acceleration is similar with the A3 slightly slower in 0-60. On twisty roads, the A3 is much faster (seat of the pants). W/o the turbo, you don't have to worry as much about keeping it spooled, the DSG is far faster and smoother (for me) than the manual, and the better grip means I can go much faster than my old S4.
If I had chipped my S4, added an aftermarket suspension, and improved my heel and toe skills, it might be a different story...

Traded my 04 Nogaro Blue S4
No regrets, i'm addicted to DSG now.
You don't have to deal with the slow speed upshift to 2nd gear jerkiness of the S4.
I'm happy.
BTW, forget the 1/4. Hit the canyon roads.
