loaner car question

loaner car question
What happen if your car broke and not drivable and you need to leave the car at the dealer's for days or weeks? I believe this is very normal due to the fact that Audi parts take forever to arrive.
Not concerned much if I am still within warrantly period, but how about after that? Anybody knows whether the loaner car program good good for the warranty period only or for the rest of the life of vehicle? or pretty much depend on dealers?
If loaner car provided during warranty period only then I may need to pay for rental car or get rid of the A3 after 4 years

Depends on dealer and what they are charging you. The money for the loaner
has to come from somewhere - and AoA doesn't pay unless you buy an extended warranty before the original expires. Even then, only in certain cases.
Does any non-super-premium brand offer this?

I always got a loaner on my Volvo, even at 200K miles, "free" rental.
They had a rental car company on site, but never charged me for it. I'm sure they just buried the cost of the loaner in the charges for servicing the car. They'd do this even for one-day jobs. (I always did the routine oil changes and stuff myself after warranty.)
