In the Fast Fleet section they have a TT Coupe (225). The mention driving one at Johnathon Plamers Bedford Autodrome. "Palmer's TTs come with uprgraded brakes"
Any ideas on what these are?

Probably AP Racing 4 piston calipers and drilled AP disks. I have them on my S3. The effect is a little different to the standard single-piston, floating caliper brakes...

Are they much better than the standard items?
I would like a stronger pedal feel and more powerful braking force.
Out of interest how much were they? Did you get the front and rear done?

Brakes...
Hi Kevin,
I presume that because you have the S3 and thus 17" wheels the fitment was easy.
But wouldn't us guys with A3's and 16" wheels have to upgrade to 17" wheels to fit the calipers?
Cheers,
Alan

Alan/David -
I really don't know about fitment of the AP Racing kit to a car with 16" wheels. The only thing I can suggest is a chat with my supplier AmD at Oddington, just north of Oxford. Cost, ISTR, is about £1,500 (for fronts only).
As for performance, the APs are astounding. In moments of (controlled) lunacy, I did get fade with the original S3 brakes. No longer. The braking power is staggering, but what really impresses, though, is the feel through the brake pedal.
Rgds.
