Default New car with 100km and tires out of balance....lol

I just picked up my new A3, it now has 171 km on it after a little bit driving. I was getting this weird vibration in my face while driving, I took the rear tires off and spun them up on my balancer at my shop here. ( I own a little custom shop in Burlington, ON. we have some very nice and expensve tire machines and balancers - much nicer then any dealer I have ever seen) I was a little unhappy to say the least, the passenger side rear tire was out 1.75oz of weight and the drivers side rear was out 0.5oz. The fronts were fine, but meh.... I would think that this would be done right for what it is. Anyone else notice anything yet when they picked theirs up?

Default Could you have hit some bad bumps? Mine has been perfect - as have

the cars I test drove.

Are you sure you're not in Montreal?

Default Had similar problem the first week I had my A3...

Tech writer said Audi factory balance could be a little off. They re-balanced my wheels no charge on their Hunter GSP9700, no more problems. Unfortunately not all shops have great machines like the Hunter.

Default Wheels and tires can go out of balance simply from sitting too long at a time, especially if mounted

on the car with all its weight on them.

Ya, thats what makes me happy.. We have the COATS XR 1800 WHEEL BALANCER and the COATS 7065 TIRE MACHINE. They are very nice machines (worth crazy money, lol) and much nicer then any other the dealers around here.
