Default New policy - charge $7 for gas in loaner car

So I took my car in for its 35,000 and had arranged to get a loaner for the day like I always do. To my shock I was told that they just started a new policy last week where they are now charging $7 for gas. At first it was not a big deal. I really appreciate the whole loaner idea and its convenience and it's only $7 but the more I thought about it the more it really ticked me off. Why offer a first class service of a loaner car and then dumb it down to something anything but classy and charge me $7 for gas. I bought a $35,000 car from them and plan to spend thousands on service after 50 k and they want to hit me with $50 for gas service over the years?? Unbelievable. Does this bother anybody else or am I just being a bit too critical over a few bucks? btw audi if you read this I took the Seinfeld approach to rental cars....the whole "do you want the rental protection sir? oh yes cause im going to beat the hell out of that car" my approach "are you ok with the $7 gas charge sir? oh yes cause im going to get my $7 bucks worth at every stop and corner" lol

Default That's retarded. I'd be annoyed by it as well. More of an insult than anything else.

WTF is the point of charging their customer 7 bucks?

Default got stuck with Enterprise

while I was getting my sunroof installed. It sucked, big time and I had to return the car with a full tank of gas, which I got stuck with for 4 days. I had to drive this crappy as base model as you can get Taurus. It didn't even have remote locks. The best thing going for it was the power windows.

I guess they normally give out loaner cars but if they are all out they go through Enterprise. yuck.

Default Ridiculous... the amount of money they'd get back is negligible, and yet they end up

tarnishing the customer experience over it.

What dealer is this? I hope it's not Audi-wide.

I took my car in several months ago and was surprised by the same thing, my hit was $12.
They needed to keep my car for several days and I thought I was going to be on the hook for 48-60$
Turns out it was $12 for the entire time.

Default Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand your gripe.

Any loaner I've had; whether it be from Audi, VW, or BMW(motorcycle), it's always been the policy to top off the tank before you return the vehicle. In my case it's always involved more than the $7.00 you're complaining about.

if it's just $7.00, I agree with you. If it's $7.00 + top up, I agree with bblac.
