Default i too put the slider back underneath the side panel and it's secured even without the screw...then

i finally found a longer screw and put it back in, it's all good.

Default Once installed, you'll never know the difference...

and it's more secure than the stock dead pedal ever was.

I guess it depends on how long you expect to keep the car. I generally put +150K miles on a car before I part with it, so I'm not too concerned about resale value.
