Default I definitely see where you are coming from. I just don't agree.

I just can't see driving another VW again, not unless something changes with styling and certain quality issues that I have experienced. But again keep in mind the R32 weighs only 107 lbs. less than the A3. I like 4-doors. I don't want a sunroof and I choose my own rims. And you are wrong on a couple of things. The A3 only gets a driver's side power seat and none are memory.

Default I beleive the R32 gearing is different than the A3 and the R32 gets Launch Control

for some fun stop-light drag races.

I haven't driven the A3 3.2 but I have driven the R32. I can't imagine it driving exactly the same way.

The exhaust note alone will make you think you're driving an exotic.

You really can't beat the overall package for the money. (sure there are much faster cars out there but none of them put it together like the R32)

Default What quality issues did you have with VW, because you are aware that the A3s are VW based...

They have the same engines as the VW GTI and R32, same brakes same transmissions etc

In my opinion, the interior and exterior styling is the only real difference in these cars.

Both are great cars, brothers from another mother I guess lol.

Default I completely agree with you though. 100lbs on a 3500 lb car isnt alot....

And not wanting a sunroof and being ok with the stock wheels is personal preference. I guess I was just commenting on your average A3/GTI guyer not being huge car enthusiasts, that they could get more car for less money. I am interested in a 2.0T Quattro DSG A3 with no sunroof, sport suspension and maybe xenon lights, thats it. lol I am performance based, and all other options are not important to me.
