Remote Starter for A3. Anyone tried it yet?
I did back in Aug 2005 when I did my stereo. No dice. There was no info avail.
Installers can subscribe to a website called DirectWire.com. From this site you can get the info to make it happen. VW/Audis are difficult b/c of the computers. Typical installs that are 300$ are often jacked up to 400$ on our German vehicles.
I'm going to get a remote starter hooked up this month. Here is the info I have found on the tex for the installers. Although you may want to hold off until I have mine done, unless you can REALLY trust your installer.

You can also use a Fortin CAN-SL
It's much cheaper and does everything you need (it claims to anyway - I haven't actually used one).
Read about it: <a href="http://bypasskits.fortinautoradio.com/products/bypass_kits/can-sl/"> CAN-SL</a>
One place that sells it:

I'm confused - a surprize to no one. Is this a device that exists and the discription is a pinout or
something else.
I see the guys listing the CanBus interfaces below but those say works with all remotes so is the above connections for a CanBus unit?
If you are going to tackle this I am very interested in your results - the A3 lives outside in Utah and this would be helpful.
