Default sunshade for moon roof

My sunshade clip/release is broken. Is there a better product or will Audi (under warranty) replaced with the same crappy device. I swear I only used it 4 or 5 times in the last 2 months and now it won't stay fastened. Advice?

Default I have the new latch from factory and it no longer holds

The latch didn't break like the old problem, but the shade just opens randomly for no reason especially happens when i close the door.

Default Let your service writer know about it so you can get in line for a more betterer mucho macho part.

My "improved" clip broke and they are on national backorder. Hopefully an improved part is being implemented on the '07 production line and we will see it soon.

It sounds like this happened to a lot of A3s. Any announcements for recalls or are they just waiting for more owners to complain? Does this breakdown occur in the majority or are we just unlucky?

Default Audi issued a service bulletin a few months ago. Improved part still has the problem.

Many people have had the original part replaced with the 'improved" bow and they have broken too. My VIN indicates my car had the "improved" part installed at the factory when it was manufactured. It broke. I'm hoping Audi doesn't waste a bunch of our time replacing them with parts doomed to fail again.

Lets hope for the best.

Default Bah

Having moved over to the 4 rings from VW with the car,I'm happy to see that they handle non-safety defects exactly the same way VW does... ignore them until it actually causes them bad press.
I thought I was getting away from crap like window regulators and coil packs and other little things that break on every single car.
*sigh*
