I've done nearly 3000 miles in my A3 quattro now and I haven't reset the DIS since I acquired it. According to the computer, my average fuel consumption has been 30.2 mpg with an average speed of 45 mph.

A lot of the miles I do are on motorways. I was hammering it a bit when I first bought it but now I'm taking it a bit easier (petrol is just too damn expensive in the UK! :-( )


Anyone else got any real-life consumption figures for turbos, quattros and S3s?<p>99 A3 quattro Sport

My DIS average is 34.9 mpg @ 36mph over 7000 miles..

I've reset my DIS quite a few times. But recently I haven't been doing, probably for 5000 miles at least. Car has now done over 23K miles.

Average consumption = 32.1 mpg

Used to get 33mpg before it's first service at 10K miles. Which included fast driving, town driving and at least one motorway trip per week.

is it mainly town driving you do?

Town driving during rush hour (the time I get up) + 1st-2nd-3rds + horrible quality fuel = 16,427 mpg

Before I put an Abtchip in my car it was 22.1 mpg (over 3445 km), after it is 21.6 mpg (over 2894 km incl. +/- 1300 km German AB)

But hey, you have to pay to get some fun!!
