If any one has fitted this to a 1997 1.8T 3door please could they tell me if the alarm is also set when the doors are locked. I had a brief discussion with Audi who seem to think the alarm may be set/unset by some kind of switch that is directly connected to the barrel of the door lock. This would lead me to believe that when using a remote system that is plumbed into the pump itself that the alarm will not work any more.

I went ahead and bought it anyway and it works great. It DOES set the alarm and also closes the window. It took 15mins to fit and has very good range too.

maybe you can help me then, same model, but the drivers door keeps thinking it is open when its closed. i have to repeatedly open and close it until it registers otherwise the alarm wont engage. any ideas?

I think there is a microswitch in the doorlatch, I will try to check for sure.

thanks. i have taken the panel off the drivers door but the lock isn't very accessable. on the passenger side if i engage the lock manually (ie with my finger when the door is open) it registers as the door is closed but on the drivers door it doesnt register every time, maybe only once in every 25 times. i hope this is something i can fix myself.
