wife hit a deer...
I've been a long time board troll but never bothered to post until now. My wife hit a deer with my '06 A3 2.0 MT6 sport package (lava grey w/ gray leather).
So anyways I'll need a new grill, new front bumper and new hood. Trying to make the best of a bad situation I was thinking of trying some aftermarket upgrades. Oettinger looks to be too expensive. So I was thinking maybe a Votex front lip. Any suggestions for an AFFORDABLE front bumper if I didn't want to go with stock?
Also any opinions of going with a carbon fiber hood? Not sure if I'd perhaps leave it unpainted since my car is Lava Grey it won't be too much of a contrast. I think it would be a bit too ricey even still. Anyways this place has the carbon fiber hoods for $750. http://www.eurogearusa.com/
Any opinions? Has anyone seen them first hand to attest to their quality and the fit?
Thanks for your help.
(I'm in South Jersey BTW)

sorry to hear about the deer...good that she didn't swerve in an..
attempt to miss it. I lost a relative because of that.
I agree that the A3 could use some weight reduction. If it were me I would get some sub 20 lb wheels if you havent already before any other weight considerations. The hood on the A3 is relatively small so I doubt the weight savings would be that substantial going CF.
As far as aftermarket front ends, I like the stock s-line. I put the euro plate holder on and the front makes alot more sense now. I'm going to lose the chrome (preference would be brushed aluminum) but aside from that I think it looks good. For me most of the aftermarket front end stuff looks too 'aftermarket'.

She said she had no chance to swerve/brake, etc. But yeah it could have been much worse.
The hood likely has to be replaced so thats why I was thinking of going with the carbon fiber hood. I'm not sure if I want to make my A3 look like a boy racer car or not though. Still I think it might look good on a Lava Gray A3. If I go with it I'll be sure to give you guys a review and some pics. I'm gonna stick with the stock front bumper.
