Default 2015 A3 2.0T Quattro Oil Filter

Hi All, just took delivery of my wife's 2015 A3 2.0T Premium Plus Quattro in Brilliant Black.

Beautiful car...fun to drive, and really coooool. So far our only complaints are that the dang MMI wheel is a$$-backwards, pulling in to traffic from a dead stop has some hesitation, and, of course, the lack of Homelink. WTF. One of the most technologically advanced cars out has no Homelink.

I do all my own oil changes - EVEN when it's free from the dealer (besides the dealer is an hour away) - so I'm perplexed that I can't find an oil filter for the A3 - EVEN on Audi's own parts site.

I know she won't reach the first oil change threshold for awhile....but I like to be prepared.

Anyone else a do-it-yourselfer that might've found them somewhere? A lot of parts places don't even have 2015 model years available.

No HomeLink? Is that true on all versions, or just Premium?

A3 HomeLink was discontinued after the 2006 model year.

Now that I've had a few more days to compare the Homelink on my Subaru, and using the standard garage door opener in my wife's A3 - velcro'd under the dash in the little cubbie by the 12v power outlet....I can definitely say that I much prefer the standard garage door opener!
The Homelink in my Subaru has a very limited range, and can only open/close the door if pointed directly at the door, or the trees across the driveway from the garage. AND, I have to hold the button down 3-4 seconds. The standard opener takes one quick click from just about anywhere in a 100' radius of the house, pointing in whatever direction.
And the location where I taped it is very unobtrusive and doesn't affect the clean lines of the dash all that much.

It's good that your standard garage door opener works well for you. But most home garage openers, and especially neighborhood gate openers are not equal to even the lowly "homelink". I miss the homelink that I have had in every car I have owned since I bought the 2001 A4 2.8 Quattro and that includes four different cars..........I hate the neighborhood "issued" cheap gate and garage door opener that I now have to clip on the visor of my brand new, technologically advanced A3 Prestige. A car with all these technologically advanced features should not be left without a programmable, built in system to open your garage door........ It is the only feature I find missing from such a great compact car.

Good going! Focus on what's really important and adapt to the little perceived glitches - that's the way to get on with things!
FWIW, the Homelink on my '13 A6 doesn't work with the hi-tech super secure door opener in the apartment building I live in, and guess what - using a separate remote has proven no hassle for the 19 months I've had the car, but all the great aspects make me smile every time I go into the garage and see it.

Hahaha. I like your positivity, irenesbob.
In case anyone is interested, I did find some aftermarket homelink rear-view mirrors on amazon. I have no idea if they'd work, or what.

that's because you don't have access to the opener's "learn" button.

They work. That's what's in my Lexus and my wife's Mazda.
