Default 2018ís donít come with an MMI oil gauge?!?!

I just picked up my 2018 S3 last night. Iím making progress figuring out all the awesome tech. It appears the 2018ís do not have the in cockpit oil level gauge. I talked to my salesman over the phone and he walks me through where it should be (he has a 2017 S3). When I told him it wasnít there, he checked the RS3 in the showroom and it wasnít in that car as well. Looks like Audi removed this functionality for 2018? Salesman was surprised that Audi didnít make an announcement on that, but says they will do that with certain features from time to time.

With some Audiís propensity to burn oil, itís disconcerting to have this functionality removed.

If you have VCDS or similar you can turn it on in module 17: Turn on "Acceleration" while you're there to get the "G Meter" on your virtual cockpit.

That is oil temp, not oil level. But yes you can code oil temp on via VCDS.

As for oil level, it is done manually with the dipstick like the good ol days. I am sure with a bit of digging in VCDS, one may find the value but in order to get it to work right several factors are needed knowing the Germans (temp, hood switch input, engine off timer, ect.)

Would there need to be a sensor present in the motor to gauge oil level readings?

I have a 17 model S3 and it has no MMI oil level reading, good old dipstick....unaware of any Audi 3 series 8V chassis having this feature.

Ah yes I miss read it. Never seen oil level anywhere on any pre or facelift S3's.

I personally didn’t see it, but my sales guy walked me through the MMI settings (over the phone) of where it is on his 2017 S3...same location where the tire pressure monitoring is. Soooo.....all you pre 2018 guys can confirm that is not the case?

No oil level gauge here - and I haven't heard of any S3's having it - even back in 2015/2016. If you have virtual cockpit you automatically get the oil temp gauge on some of the VC screens, if you don't have virtual cockpit you can enable the oil temp gauge through VCDS/Carista/OBD11 - but no option on either for oil level gauge.
