Default Buy 2020 RS3 or wait for 2021?

Thinking of buying a 2020 RS3 from current inventory. Wondering how much discount I can expect? Does anyone think the 2021 model will have either Homelink or power seats? (Would really like to see the RSQ3 sold here).

you can add homelink to the current RS3 for a few hundred dollars after purchase. i paid a local shop to do it. $350 parts and labor installed in the headliner.

It's virtually certain there will be no 2021 RS3. The new A3 won't launch here till spring/summer it sounds like, followed by the S3 and then the RS3....IF that is even a model they continue. There is no certainty it will given the current state of the industry. 2021 will likely only be the TT RS. The next-generation RS3 will be dramatically different (obviously) and a much more desirable car from a tech, design language and NVH. Comparing the two will make the current car's interior look extremely dated. I guess it just depends if you are looking for a car now or a year from now.

Love the installation. Looks OEM. Where did you have that done?

I think I'll wait for the same reasons. A car in this price range should have electric seats with memory and Homelink. Maybe they'll pump a little more HP out of the 2.5, too. I wasn't in a hurry to get rid of the TTS anyway.

Farmer,

Where do you get your information about the future models?

it certainly looks like there will definitely be a 2021 RS3. there are continued reports of spy shots of it being tested on track.

i think the only question is if it will arrive in the states in time, which is probably a no. the production version of the S3 is only just now showing up online in european video blog reviews.

I feel like usually the A3 and maybe S3 come out the same year, with the RS3 usually the following year. Also it tends to seem like Europe is a half year ahead when it comes to the model years. This is just my speculation.

We had this discussion with our Audi saleman yesterday while having the 10k mile oil service done on our 2019 Audi RS 3, and he indicated that we probably wouldn't see a new RS 3 until mid to late 2021. They simply don't really have any firm dates at this time, or SPECIFIC information about the configuration of the next new model release. Some 'I think it'll have this' talk going around, but nothing specific from Audi.
