Hi everyone

I am patiently waiting my white s3 to come, hopefully by May. My real concern is lack of homelink. In my building everyone programs the garage door to their car but if you don't have home link then you have to get out of the car and use the key. Does anyone know of a homelink mirror or older audi visor with homelink that will work?

Word is Home Link is on the 2016 models and can be retrofitted as long as you don't have the Tech Package. Don't know why the Tech Package matters but supposedly thats a deal breaker for retro fitting Home Link.

Assuming it is a roving code opener just go to a auto parts or home store and buy a remote. Program it and clip it to your visor .

It's a older opener from the early 90s late 80/ if I had to guess. Would that be rolling code?

My 2015 S3, scheduled for end of March delivery has homelink. It is now available as a Port install. Call your dealer and have them add it to your order. They will install it at Port. MSRP is less than $295.

Happy they added as an option. My understanding is that it became available on 3/10/15.

Interesting. That's gotta be a simple retrofit if it's a port install. I don't think I'd spend $300 for an integrated garage door remote that replaces an existing garage door remote, though. Is it a visor or part of the sunroof console (or door buttons)?

Very interesting, first I've heard of this. Pics when you get it (as if you wouldn't anyway )

Just curious, where did you hear this? Another forum?

From what I'm hearing, it's going to be part of the sunroof console. This is my first Audi (coming from a Lexus), and the dealer said it will be located where most Audi's have them. I stayed with Lexus in 2009 when I first started to look at Audi (new A4 back then). I'm excited to see how Audi treats me for the next 5 or so years!

I would suspect it is roving code but even if it isn't you can still get an opener for it. Just look at the manufacture of the unit and the model number and contact someone who installs them.
