I run 245/40/18 Michelin A/S3+ on Neuspeed RSe10 wheels, on our
2019 RS 3 now at 17,040, with 11,457 being fast country back road
runs. I am retired and been running back roads for over 60 years,
but now able to enjoy these drives daily, (weather permitting) instead
of just week-ends only!
Had to go with much taller sidewalls to deal with bad road surface
conditions on back road runs, which killed the RS 3's original Pirelli
235/35/19 in two days! Our back roads are in really bad shape given
the now poor maintenance, or no maintenance at all, compared to
earlier years! And the now very low profile 19" tire/wheel now on
so many new vehicle configurations certainly don't help! My 2 cents.

so not only does the tire shop not want to put 245/35, they refuse! They adamantly say that the staggered OEM setup is the only fitment available for the RS3.
Americas tire btw. Just told them to put some OEM pirellis on the front and i'll deal with this later.
Now my heads really spinning.

I would certainly expect them to have various tire/wheel options available for the RS 3! Or call somebody like
Neuspeed who I've delt with for decades, involving many different vehicle wheel/tire configuration on Porsche,
Golf R, BMW and others!

Thanks Rod. The guy at the tire shop told me the 245s would rub. I told him that I know people with the same vehicle on those tires and they're fine but he said he wouldn't do it.
So for now I'm just going to replace the front Pirellis and then by the time those are worn the rears will be gone too. At that time I will find someone local and knowledgeable and do a wheel/tire change with some neuspeeds and michelins with confirmed fitment.
Any recommendations for knowledgeable shop that would do this around OC/LA is appreciated!

Given your location I would contact and work directly with Neuspeed.

Tell them that I suggested you contact them, since you have an RS 3
like I have and need tire/wheel support. Again they configured mine
using their RSe10 18x8.5 inch wheel fitted with Michelin A/S3+
245/40/18 tires. That model has been replaced by the new Michelin
Pilot Sport AS4 tire.
I am running this size so my RS 3 can handle the country back roads
I run in VA & W VA, with their often bad road surface faults, that
the much lower profile original 235/35/19 only lasted two days of
running! I currently have 11,759 miles on these same roads with the
245/40/18 A/S3+ with no problems. I have an additional 5,364 miles
normal roads driving for a total of 17,123. The tires are now nearing
3/32 inch remaining tread depth, which is when I renew my tires.
Good luck and let us know how you make out with them.

Thanks Rod. Well it looks like we're on the same page cause I already have a Neuspeed cart with RSE010+40 and 245/35 MPS4s. Neuspeed recommended I either go with +40 and 245/35 or +45 and 255/30. Haven't really decided yet. I think I might prefer the look of the latter but the driving characteristics of the former.
At any rate, thanks for all your help. I think I might let America's tire put the pirellis on the stock rims and drive around on them for a while just so I can really feel the change to the neuspeed/michelins and maybe but them back on if I ever sell the car?
