2010 S5 Tiptronic or 6Speed Manual?
Would I be disappointed with an S5 tiptronic?? I've driven manuals for 15 years, however, 5,4 sec / 100mph 1/4mile sounds ok for an automatic S5. Anyone? short answer please.

I think anybody used to manuals will be disappointed with the tiptronic. You really need the DSG to satisfy long-time manual drivers (though not all would be happy even with the DSG), since the DSG is closer to the experience of driving a manual. Until the S5 gets the DSG I'd stick with the manual.

I heard from an Audi reliable source up in Germany that S5 won't get a 7-Speed DSG due to V8 Engine size not allowing for a DSG gearbox to be mounted together, it can only be mounted in conjunction with the V6 block for some reason. So unless S5 goes with a 3.0T in the near future, I doubt we will see it in the V8 4.2 Engine.

It's generally believed that the S5 will get the 3.0T engine (and DSG) in 2012, keeping the V8 for 2011. However, Audi has not stated with certainty that the V8 will even stick around for 2011, so it's possible the new engine/trans combo will come earlier.
Considering that the S5 Cab already has the newer drivetrain it's just a matter of time before the S5 Coupe gets it.

Yep, I love the 3.2. As a matter of fact, I purposely bought an '09 A5 ahead of my planned schedule because I wouldn't have been able to get the V-6 with a manual transmission beginning in 2010. I test drove the 2.0T in the A4 and didn't particularly care for it. It's a fine engine, but it lacks the smoothness and fine sound of the 3.2. In my testing it suffered noticeably in performance to the 3.2 as well, regardless of what the torque numbers say. So I decided to forgo the 3G MMI in the interest of getting the drivetrain I wanted.
Lots of folks are quite happy with the 2.0T, and like I said it's a very nice engine. Perhaps if I was the modding type I might have been more receptive to it, but in stock form I just like the 3.2 much better. It certainly has plenty-enough power for my needs.
