Shift **** moves left and right slightly, like it is loose, but does not seem to be a threaded arrangement

Figured out how to remove the boot and lift it up over the **** exposing the shaft and the crimp style clamp....however it is quite tight at that clamp and the movement is above it. Not sure what to fix at this point...
