Air Intake Leak
About 4 months ago just before warantee expired on my 2001 A5 Cab 2.0 TFSI they changed the rings on my engine because I had one of the cars that was consuming excess oil, 1 quart every 3500 miles or so.
Now I had the engine light come on so I pulled out the vagcom and got the following. I'm thinking they failed to tighten something or got something in the PCV valve or something else. The car still has the issue where acceleration sometimes stalls out around 2600 rpm it has had since the first couple months.
Should this be under warantee, I think so obviously as car has only 42K miles and is always garaged so its a bit much to think something has disintegrated.
I have a service scheduled to have them tell me what they would do but if its like replacing a PCV valve that is simple enough to do myself.
Any ideas about what else it could be or if it really is likely its unrelated. Does this normally happen at 5yrs/42K miles?
Vag-com Relevant section below, rest is no fault found
Also do I read this right that the issue is a one off? and it has not happened since.
If so can I just clear it and wait to see if it happens again?

You're the best person to know if it ran out of gas, LOL!
Sounds like an induction leak, perhaps a torn boot or loosened intake hose. Check them all, because it does happen.

update so i have been running since the 14th with no other issues so I cleared the fault today, just to see if I could continue with no issue, and now its terrible, idleing way too low and misfires. all i did was clear the fault codes so I am guessing the engine control module was compensating and now it doesnt?

Yep, PCV Valve.
So the Air Intake issue was the PCV valve had a pin hole leak, happens a lot apparently, you can usually hear this if you get close to the PCV valve (I did not know at the time). its right behind the engine up top easy to get to. I was able to just feel for the air coming out but if you have trouble a little water with soap would also show you the leak like you would for a bike tire. A piece of clear tape over the hole will fix the issue temporarily and you should see the problem go away diagnostically but you still need to change out the part. There are videos online that show you how to change it out. I had the dealer do it as it was pretty cheap once I told them what I wanted and avoided the diagnostic charge as I just walked up to the car and showed them the leak. I had it back in less than an hour. It was under warranty so I did not have to pay for the part and I was only charged a 1/2 hour labor. Hope that helps.

Go back and get the labor charge removed
