There will likely be a cab version.

Other than the cab version. Face lift? Interior changes? Mechanical changes, is what I am asking.

Best to wait when they slap the 4.0 engine on the RS5 that they have on the S6 and S7, where you get 406 lbs of torque at 1,400 RPM.

This will likely not be for a while since they typically only build toward the end of a model generation.

Don't assume that. One RS5 buyer in Europe bought it when it came out in 2011 and in 2012 there was a new face lifted version. He was so disgusted that after 1 year, his model was "old" and not the latest version. Just 1 year.

So it's very possible they will have a new engine very soon. The low torque engine is old, and Audi will be facing competition with the new 4 series BMW and the new M coupe. Nobody will buy an RS5 in 2014 when they can buy a more powerful S6 that does 3.7 seconds 0-60. The Renn Sport version should be faster than the S badge.

As much as I love the 3.0SC in my S5 that is kicking butt in the A6/A7, if the RS5 had at minimum the TTRS's 2.5 360hp TFSI/ 343 lb.-ft torque, that only comes with a 6 speed MT, that would be sweet.

Right, but this was just a facelift -- plus it was in Europe. RS models don't make it over here as often.

Which is why they will most likely introduce the new A5/S5 models first, then follow later with the next RS5.

Back to the original question, the US buyer for a 2014 model will most likely be safe.
