Coilovers or lower springs?
I'm needing some advice guys. My S5 has Electronic Dampening Control (EDC) and I am wanting to lower it about an inch front and rear but I don't want to sacrifice performance and possibly increase it. Also, This is my daily driver; I don't want a track car, though I drive the Autobahn daily with occasional trips to the Nordschleife.
I'm wondering whether the H&R Sport Springs will work well with the EDC or if I should just forget about the EDC and get a complete coilover setup. I've been looking at the H&R RSS+ and the H&R Street Performance coilover systems.
Bottom-line is I want to lower my S5 and have a nice suspension that I can enjoy everyday. Any help/advice would be appreciated!

Consider, that H&R springs with labor would cost you around $600 - and coilovers would add another $1500-1800. For a daily driver I would stay with just springs, either H&R, or adjustable KW HAS - for about $350 more.

Thanks for the feedback Frogfoot. So taking cost out of the picture, which would be the best setup? Does the EDC work well with the spring swap? Would I get a better ride, performance, or both out of some new coilovers? If so, which ones?

I don't have EDC, but from what I know, the springs work perfectly fine with them.
A better ride depends on your definition - usually, according to the people who have done many of them - you will always get stiffer ride with the coilovers, even on their softest settings. The car will corner better, but the extra stiffness might be too much for some people.
As far as the best ones, you will get two general camps: Bilsteins and KW. Some mechanics prefer the KW because they have larger threads, less prone to dirt issues.
