But the opportunity for tuning will be there.
With chip and exhaust we could easily be talking about 275 hp, with somewhat lesser weight, (I would hope) quattro, and great - though almost certainly a bit less than the TDI - fuel mileage. That would be an intriguing combination to me...

You're absolutely right on that score. When Audi offered the A6 2.0T here in SGP, it came with
165 bhp so that it would not clash with the 2.4 at 175 bhp. There are some guys here running 275 bhp with FWD. Talk about torque steer.
The stupid thing was that the dealer was offering the A4 2.0T at 220 bhp stock.
